Turntable is an AI-based system which helps locate, interpret and change data. Primarily, it is designed to lower the amount of time and money spent on changing data within the open-source data engineering platform, DBT. Have a look at the first product, DBT copilot.

‎Despite its crucial role in a modern enterprise, data transformation can be a difficult, tedious, and uninspiring process. Data teams expend a great deal of energy searching for the appropriate data, constructing pipelines, and responding to unexpected demands. Furthermore, the recruitment of data personnel is a challenge. Consequently, data pipelines swiftly become a hurdle to product advancement and knowledge acquisition.

Turntable's inaugural offering is DBT Copilot. This service grants DBT clients the ability to carry out tasks that would traditionally take hours or days in a matter of minutes. The current features supported include:

  • generating or modifying DBT code
  • writing DBT schema and documentation
  • generating code for sharing DBT models in BI or visualization tools

In the near future, you will witness Turntable debuting additional components and interfaces to assist with discovering and making sense of data inside your analytics programming and working together with your colleagues.

The collective group consists of individuals who have either been members of data teams or have experienced data pipeline issues as customers of data teams:

Justin oversaw commercial data science at Cruise, directing a group of data scientists who devoted the majority of their effort to maintaining data pipelines with DBT.

Ian was the tech lead for the expansion and data engineering divisions at Pinterest and Stripe, where he had to construct internal tools and workarounds to overcome data pipeline limitations.

Wally led product for Twitter's Home Timeline team, and the team encountered frequent hindrances in creating new metrics and constructing data pipelines, resulting in protracted product advancement and comprehension.

Together, they launched Turntable due to their belief that generative AI had produced a gap for them to construct a modernized criterion for data transformation utilities.

If your business works with DBT, contact the team at team@turntable.so! (benefit: they could assist you in reducing your DBT expenditure by over 50% ). If your company does not use DBT, the team would welcome introductions to data teams at other companies that do.
